This is the true face of North Korea.
North Korea is a large country with more than 25 million people who depend on their ‘supreme leader’, Kim Jong Un. Little is known about the said country, as the previous leaders refused media to film documentaries, let alone take pictures. Only a few pictures of North Korea have been revealed in the recent decade, and most of us do not exactly know what happens in the country.
However, compared to his ancestors, Kim Jong Un is more liberal, allowing media to take pictures and documentaries of North Korea—though controlled and limited.
In this documentary, many rich North Koreans’ devotion to their ‘Supreme Leader’ is nearly religious. At a very early age, North Korean children are taught to be as devoted to their leader, singing songs of praise towards their beloved marhal. The privileged few are allowed to study in elite schools, while their families live in apartments and flats—which is a luxury for many people in the said country.
Sadly many parts of the documentary show how the regime controls many citizens. The hospitals and farms the regime claim to be part of modernization appear to be simply a show.
