Cop who heroically rescued girl from deadly blaze in 1998 is reunited with her ‘savior’ as she graduates college

A firefighter was able to retrieve Aponte, and immediately gave her to Peter Getz, who just arrived at the scene. Getz noticed that Aponte was no longer breathing, and she didn’t have a pulse. He needed to save her.

He immediately performed CPR at the back of the police car on their way to the hospital. Thankfully, by the time they pulled up, his young patient was breathing normally again.
